Missing warning. When using the shortcut launcher, program.info makes BASIC crash, with Android message
"BASIC!" stopped.

This is a bug that needs a fix, not a warning in the manual :)

On the lines of: "Warning: Life is a sexually transmitted terminal disease!"?

Sprougnaf, I do not get a crash. Can you give me more information?
- What version of BASIC! are you using when you run from a shortcut?
- What version of BASIC! is your app compiler using?
- What version of Android are you running, and on what device?
- Can you post a short program that crashes?

Anybody else: are you getting crashes?

- Marc

Right.

I think this is a file naming issue. Try changing your .bas filename to all lower case. Something like:-

program.info_bundle.bas

With my code example, because I find no issues either with Launcher Shortcuts via widgets in BASIC! nor command PROGRAM.INFO

Code:
PROGRAM.INFO info
DEBUG.ON
DEBUG.DUMP.BUNDLE info

PRINT "Wait 3 seconds then EXIT..."

PAUSE 3000

EXIT

EXIT seems to be a topic at the moment, so incorporated that into the above code.

I reduced the bugging program to only
Program.info a
and that was my test.bas program.
Now I guess an other reason for the bug, related with the bas file itself(not its name Mog): when returning to it, it was no visible in the basic editor! After deletion, the new test works.

I can only confirm that using commands that need bundles work properly.

You will get a blank screen with just 'PROGRAM.INFO a' as your code but no crash. The editor is still accessable. I get a warning when I create a Launcher Shortcut with bad file names. Then BASIC! stops when I launch it. Expected. The manual is clear in what to do.

I'm sure there are examples in the forum of using bundles, and I had to be shown how to use them because I had no clue in the first instance.

If you have found an anomolie a fully detailed response would be appreciated, I'm sure...

I'm trying to replicate‚Äč one weird thing that was happening though.

Are you saying that a previously launched program was still there?

Reason I'm asking, and trying to replicate was when I exited via the menu from the Editor, after creating a shortcut in the Launcher -- another previously loaded .bas program came up in the editor.

I don't know if Android is running more than one session of BASIC! at a time rather than launching a new one?

Outside my knowledge...

Mog
