Is there a way to run a Rfo-Basic! program automatically, (say Start.bas) as soon as the editor is loaded ?

Can a compiled Rfo-Basic! app call a Rfo-Basic program (say run "Start.bas", "Parameter") ?

Hi Heromedx,

Yes you can do it with APP.START in the main release.

You can do it also with my test version. based on the newest main release.

Look at
http://rfobasic.freeforums.org/hot-summer-of-code-t4408.html
http://rfobasic.freeforums.org/hot-summer-of-code-t4408-30.html
http://rfobasic.freeforums.org/hot-summer-of-code-t4408-60.html

At
http://rfobasic.freeforums.org/hot-summer-of-code-t4408-80.html
you find the newest test version with description etc.

If you prefer the main release you find also useful parameters for APP.START in the examples above.
RSA's compiler supports the test version directly.

Happy coding
Gregor

Hi Heromedx,

I know you asked to run a BAS file but I rather agree with Gregor to run an APK instead.
Why ? When you send the BAS file say over WiFi then only the *.bas was sent and not
the bitmap or resource files used in the BAS file. This will produce an error.
Unless you send the whole directory structure with resources needed.

But when you send a APK then all of that resources will be included and what you see
is what you will get. Maybe you can also now see why some members asked you if
your editor would be able to work with BlueStacks.
Have a look what RFODESIGNER's editor does in this regard.
It uses BlueStacks and can also be used to send APK via bluetooth to the phone.

Regards & have fun !
Emile

But if the ancillary files are already loaded on the device,
sending the .BAS file via wifi or USB truly enhances the interactive
nature of BASIC programming.
Edit on the laptop and run on the android device.
Good stuff, Maynard.
