Dear All,

I also had a problem with downloading the latest version to my Pc, but could do it on my tablet (no antivirus software), then it was just a matter of transferring it. It installed without problem and now it runs fine. No need to deactivate the antivirus. Sorry if it is self evident - but I was quite pleased when I discovered it.

You can use one of the many online services that create an APK download link from a Google Play URL.
Example: http://downloader-apk.com/?id=com.rfo.BASICLauncher

What apk do you mean? If you mean the BASIC! app, you can download it from Bintray. The manual is there, too. See the Announcements section of the forum for more links.

There are a few versions on the ftp server, too.

Yeah, sorry, thanks. I thought I'd need an APK for the USB mode too. So I finally managed to get this working and it's an absolute pleasure! It increases productivity 10-fold. Really fantastic.

I had to disable the Avira "realtime protection" guard, which generally makes me nervous.

After I tried np++ Shift F5 with avira active, it complained resolutely. After clicking "details", avira pretended to "repair" something. However, when I run the launcher and after that turned avira in and made a system scan, it didn't find anything.

Since avira is notoriously doing false positives and since Avira is the inly one, I guess it's ok.

What a shame that an antivirus company can so easily destroy or at least inhibit the future/success of a project.

Anyway, thanks a lot for this great set of tools!

BTW. this also allows to transfer files to the phone as basic sources, containing eg. a zipfile as DATA lines that the .bas will then save to the phones sdcard, so no need to constantly un/plug the cable.

.

Thanks QBFan.
Out of curiosity: do you use it in cable mode or WiFi mode?

I didn't see this comment from Murphy.

It's been a long time I didn't work on the BASIC! Launcher. I think I could make a small interface in order to transfer resource files as well (jpg, png, mp3 and whatnot) to <sdcard>/rfo-basic/data without too much problems (and I remember it has been asked before...)

[EDIT] working on it

Yeah, a File uploader would be great, although, I could live with my hack. I wonder what Samsung was thinking... endless plugging / unplugging. My plug aleady fell apart, so I had to fix it with a rubberband. (and they suggest to unplug the power cable each time the accu is full... if I would have done so, that cable would have been defective after the first 3 Weeks of use.)

However, if you add features, please make sure it remains compatible with XPsp3.

Thanks again.
