I am in the process of writing a small IDE for the PC, to edit Rfo Basic! programs
It is written in Delphi, and it is Version 0.1, so it is very beta.
Since ftp.laughton.com is not accessible, you can email me if you want to try it.
Your comments and suggestions will be welcome as longs as they are POLITE !

The editor has the following features:
Download edited code to Android devices and run automatically
Contextual Help
Syntax highlighting
Code folding
Find/Rename
Line Numbering
Undo/Redo

ZIP FILE CONTENTS
BasicEditor.exe - the executable program for your PC
FullBasic.htm - The Rfo Basic Manual
Readme.txt - This file
XXX.BAS - The file for the Android

NOTES USING THE EDITOR:
1. Load and run XXX.BAS on the Android. "waiting..." will be displayed on the Android.
(I have purchased Nicolas Mougin's excellent Basic! compiler, and put a widget on my
Android phone with the compiled XXX.BAS program).
2. Press the Download button on the PC. It will download your program into ../source/temp.bas
and will start running it automatically. When your program finishes it will hang, and if you press the "BACK" button,
it will wait again for the next download.

SHORTCUT KEYS
^C Copy
^X Cut
^V Paste
^A Select All
^Z Undo
^Y Redo

Double Clicking on an Rfo Basic! reserved word, will display the appropriate Help for the Command

Double clicking on an empty area will display the Complete Rfo Basic! manual,
and you can navigate it like any WebBrowser.

PLANNED FUTURE ENHANCEMENTS
Bookmarks
Printing
Copy files from Android to PC
Copy files from PC to Android
Manipulating the Android file system from the PC
Copy files
Rename file
Delete file
Create folder
Rename folder
Delete folder
Change current folder
File Explorer facility on the PC

So you need to configure either the editor or the app at first start ?

Yes, Heromedx,

really cool!
Do you think your editor will work with Blue Stacks on the same PC?

Regards, Aat

Yes, both.
The server (PC) needs the port no, and the Client(Android), both the Ip of the server and the port no.

I have not looked at Blue Stacks. But it seems a good idea.
I will look into it once I finished the version for Android. It is still in beta (V 0.1) and still needs a lot of work.

Hi heromedx

Could you upload your Editor in a zip file. It would make it easier of us to download and try out

Regards Roy

@Roy : BasicEditor.zip

Good job heromedx :)

Perhaps a possibility to search for a command by starting typing it in the menu bar ?

With this V2 I had to kill the task to exit, but I'm confident...

Cheers

Gilles

PS: Socket.* commands missing.
