So far the easiest way I found is to first install the zxing barcode app:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... nt.android

Then use this function to call it from within your BASIC! app:

Code:
fn.def zxing$()
CLIPBOARD.GET ClipMem$
CLIPBOARD.PUT "||sc#@#"
SYSTEM.OPEN
SYSTEM.WRITE "am start -a com.google.zxing.client.android.SCAN --user 0"
do
CLIPBOARD.GET Zw$
UNTIL Zw$ <> "||sc#@#"
SYSTEM.CLOSE
fn.rtn zw$
fn.end

a$= zxing$()
print a$

There are some other threads on this:
barcode-scanner-request-t2984.html?hilit=zxing
post21015.html?hilit=%20barcode#p21015

Not sure if we have figured out a way to do it without using zxing yet...

Hi Jim,
AppBuilder has been deprecated for years.
Have a look at Quick APK or even simpler yet the Android Compiler, both listed at http://rfo-basic.com
