Hi all

This little game may suet children especially if they like dogs. It may even be educational.

Playing Name Dog Breed

A dog picked at random will be displayed.
Under the dog will be the names of three dog breeds.
You have to pick the right breed for the dog.

A round lasts for ten dogs and a score is kept of how many you get right.

From the options button (top right) you can get information on the dog on display.

Double tap Back Key to exit.

Again a very good example game from Roy 8-)

The source code is clear, readable and understandable at first glance.
It also follows a very good programming style. Any beginner would be able to substitute some
parts in the source code and have his own version. What a great way to learn BASIC!

Roy since you are a regular game/source poster I am of the opinion that it could be helpful if you can
post with your project threads also an index of links to your previous games/projects so that newcomers
can easily go there for reference.

Hi Emile

Thanks for taking a look at this and your suggestions.

Is any one interested in the index idea?

Regards Roy

I'm agree with Emile and I think it's true for Roy obviously but some other programmers here also :)
But how to keep the thread always easily accessible?

Cheers

Gilles

The answer is a "Sticky" but if admin decides who sticks and who does not stick then we might have a problem Gilles.
So my suggestion is to put the Index of links just there where Gilles advertises his devices ;)
So if Roy or Gilles or ... is a regular poster then the latest index is always at hand.
Obviously you must just update your profile before you post then.

I wonder is any one really interested. At the time of writing this had been looked at 147 times and yet only Emile and Gilles have bothered to comment.

Hi Roy,

Who do you want to be interested?
Other contributors on this forum? Since Emile's suggestion is meant to be for newcomers (who are not yet here...... :D ).

I do think it's a nice idea. And Gilles is right. The more the better.
But it may become a pretty long signature and there is a limit of 255 chars........

Reards, Aat

btw. compliments on your latest App!

Hi Roy,

The others might be busy doing some personal things beside Basic! you know and not patrolling.
In my opinion from the 147 views 90% came from unregistered new users. Why I say that is that from the stats that I get from Google Analytics for RfoDesigner. New visitors click on my link and spend an average of 5 minutes on my website with a return percentage of around 60%. So users returning to my website indicates a need for some new "knowledge" and I doubt if old hands on this forum that got into their own way of coding for BASIC! would be the "visitors". Thus there could be many new users that never register and will benefit from the links I think. As you know BASIC! is the easiest and user friendly way to code your own program/game for your Android right :?: This specific game from you that seems so "not 3D/cool etc for the pro" actually is so good in source code because it handles so much of what a new BASIC! programmer needs for a good kick start.

Regards
Emile
Ps: Or is your list too long Roy
Gilles I am not excluding you and others 8-)
And Aat is right that it should not be part of the signature :D

Hi guys,

As an example I have created a new directory in the BASIC! repository.
In this dir, called 'Author_index' a document with my apps.
My signature now has a link to this document.

What do you think?
If you don't like it I'll delete it.
We may even create a poll to get more attention/opinions.

Of course the document can be as extensive as you like!
Everybody has the freedom to do this or not.

Greetings, Aat

Excellent Aat 8-) :D

In the time that I am with Basic! I never realized what you have all coded as of now.
Previously I would browse the directories and when opening the bas file I then happened to see, oh its from "Aat"
So I missed a lot of your stuff. And I am sure I missed a lot from others as well.

- I think though that if your Pdf filename was "Aat.pdf" it would be easier to identify at a glance who is who ?
- Currently your link goes to download the bas file. Should it not rather take us to the directory ?
- There might be support files and APK's as well for the bas file ?
- An APK file always includes all resources and can be unzipped to have access as you know.

Aat what application in windows and android do you use to manage/upload your files ?
