I got some nifty cheap VR glasses from Walmart (not bad for $20) as a gift so I modified the starfield.bas program that someone wrote awhile back to try to make it look cool in 3D... I kind of cheated on the 3D part though and just did a funky shift of the x coordinate to simulate the parallax. It turned out to be kind of cool manifold and dynamic though so maybe someone who knows trig and polar coordinates well can figure out what exactly it's doing

I played around with some variations like changing the stars to letters and squares and found the results quite pleasing. It might look cool with rotating the letters or some other mods. Also, might be cool to incorporate the sensors.

I think this will work with Google Cardboard too but didn't put any fine tuning into the app so hopefully you can line things up okay for your eyes. (If you don't have Google Cardboard you can try decoupling your eyes and staring out into space until the two images merge )...

Tap the screen anywhere to change the effect or exit.
