Yes, it probably should have been File.Copy in the first place. It isn't, for the usual historical reasons, I'm sure.

You can use system commands to copy files, but there are some problems. Getting error status back is tricky. I don't know if the system command waits for the copy to complete before returning. And I don't know if it would work for internet files. Does android have curl or wget? Do ALL androids you want to run on have them?

No easy answers...
