hey gika, i have found a need for more layers.

would it be possible to replace your current system with this?

-there is an integer inputbox called 'Layer'
-items which layer number is higher are further back
-items in the same layer are sorted by their creation order(like now)

-there is a list-box with all currently "used" layers (like the "last projects" box)
-there is a checkbox called "layer visible" underneath the list-box which is linked to each layer
-when selecting the layer, one can hide/show it using the checkbox

this would allow for theoretically unlimited layers

The system works exactly as you described, just it is limited to 4 layers. Do you have a good reason for more layers?
(PS my 3d design favourite app - 'Blender' - which is a huge app, sometimes better than 3D Studio MAX, has a maximum of 20 layers, as i know. And i never used more than two)

i am creating a game, so i need more than 4 layers to comfortably work.
also the idea is a small bit different

i know your difference idea. It would much easier adn handy to keep my 'checkboxes' style (and this is not my idea, is copied from other 3D CAD expensive apps), make more of them and rearrange them on screen, but for the moment i don't have plans to increase that number. If there is someone else who needs...? Should 10 layers be enough?
for the moment u could group/hide more/other objects by hand with GR.GROUP...

your checkboxes might be easier and handier, but with more layers it will get cluttered.

not everyone here is a "pro". take a look at Photoshop, another "pro" app with an easy list of layers.

New version of BUIgen v 1.11 is up.
- added html colors (-aFox idea) to color picker with hex input box (click on color hex value in main screen then click a colored box in the html colors window or type a hex value and press Enter)
