So I have to understand why I have the same Android version and the same APK than you and I'm alone to have a BASIC! Crashes when I exit ?! (no crash with the standalone version nor when I don't use EXIT into the APK )

I'm not lucky :) :)

It's a true mystery for me...

In french I can say that "This BASIC! makes me turn bourric" ...

I don't want to hijack your excellent game post Gilles, but can you just try clearing the cache partition?

I don't think this would make any difference, but I'm at a loss that there's not much else to try at least with the OS side of things first.

Power device off. Then simultaneously hold down 'home', 'vol up' and 'power button' and follow instructions... Only takes a couple of minutes.

If it does work I'd be amazed... as that would have been done AFAIK when the upgrade was performed...

You're sure we do not lose anything if we do this manipulation? :!:  :?

Well, I never had. But as we are astute people we all know we should do daily back up of our devices...

I do!

^ If you believe that last comment you'll believe anything!

I backed up what I wanted before my Marshmallow upgrade just in case, and got rid of quite a lot of junk I had accumulated on my phone and deleted as much as I could the user installed stuff and hidden file stuff left behind I found with ES Explorer and SD Maid.

Curious then to see how my device ran...

Everything seemed okay...

As my next intention was to do a factory reset anyway.... Which I did...

I can only say it's up to you...

If you look on Google Play there is an exclusion list of devices that BASIC! Compiler can't run on. I don't know if Roy made his .apk with either Quick APK or BASIC! Compiler but I got both to work.

Maybe BrEXIT is working after all in the UK :) :) and not on the continent!

Can I ask with what tool do you do that?

I'll don't comment myself on the brEXIT but just the EXIT makes me crazy :) :)

Cheers

No tool. Manually. Just email myself stuff, then when I get a chance and if photos I've taken, I move them across to a backup SD Card... I have extremely bad file management, lots of duplicates... But memory is as "cheap as chips" these days so usually find what I'm looking for.

I'm sorry I can't think of another way to answer your problem in hand. What's your device your having problems with by the way?

I managed to get hold of a 6.0.1 device, a Nexus 6. Unfortunately (?) it does not crash on Exit. I tried both the game apk and the little exit APK. Both exit cleanly.
I tried an Android emulator and got the same clean exits. That was 6.0, I don't think I can build a 6.0.1 emulator.

What version of BASIC! is your compiling tool using? I did fix an exit crash when I built v01.91. The crash started in v01.90.02, and it did not happen in apks, only from the Editor. Not the same as yours, but maybe you have found something similar.

Thanks Marc trying to help me :)

I think of a mysterious incompatibility of mood between BASIC! 1.90 / 91 and Android 6.0.1 !!!! ( to my mind with the "EXIT" command but? )

I have a BASIC! crash with Roy's CrackLockCode.apk compiled with the Emile's ROF2APK and wrote with Gregor's OilBasic1.90, also with my APKs compiled with Mougino's BASIC! Compiler, also now with the old Mougino's APK "Bookworm" and also with some of my old APK's compiled with Mougino's QuickAPK and a BASIC! older than 1.90...

So can we say that the commun point could be the use of the "EXIT" command into an APK and now my Android 6.0.1 on my Galaxy TAB S 8.4, 2560x1600, Marshmallow 6.0.1 ??

I must say that I research the reason for this BUG long time and I still have no leads to find a solution ...

I hope this information will help you guide your research...

Cheers

Gilles

Interjection regarding your chip set Gilles and Marc:-

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung ... _Tab_S_8.4

https://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/09/1 ... le_gcc_bug

?

Way, way over my head. Might be worth a look...
[Edit:] I know different chip number but maybe a clue???

This would not be the first time a manufacturer update breaks stuff.

Remember some time ago the WebView update by Google which broke the GW lib ?

More recently if you have followed the "Android Compiler" subforum, aapt doesn't work anymore on Sonic devices under Nougat.

And now Samsumg devices under 6.0.1 crash at EXIT...

It makes it very difficult to debug when it occurs only on some device.
